Youth Mental Health services

Deciding whether or not to take your child or teen to a therapist is a very personal and important choice. Children and teens are seen in therapy for numerous reasons, such as behavioral issues (caused by bullying, divorce, sexual abuse, etc.) and mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, attention deficit/hyperactivity, and autism spectrum disorders. We are passionate about working with youth of all ages and their families.

We also understand that being a parent/caregiver is hard-work which is why we offer support services to the “grown ups” of the children and adolescents we treat. We want you to have a space to explore parenting decisions and approaches in a way that supports the child or adolescent's social, emotional, and physical well-being.

The counselors on our Youth Mental Health Team are ready to meet you and your child where you are. Click the links below to learn more about the services we offer.

We also offer The Five Steps to Fostering Effective Discipline, a workshop designed for caregivers of toddlers, school-aged children, and teens. In the workshop we present a 5-step method for parents to learn ways to practice Emotion Coaching with their children. Dr. John Gottman and his colleagues have been studying the difference between children who develop successfully to those that don’t for more than 20 years. These researchers studied children's' school performance, their abilities to navigate various social situations and how they related with their caregivers. The research found that the children who had been Emotion Coached by the person or people raising them were more successful in all areas. They also found that emotional intelligence was a better indicator of long term success than IQ.
